Run the project, not the spreadsheet that tracks it.
Know what is blocked, what finishes when and what a slipped step does to the delivery date — with tasks, forms, approvals and files in one plan that moves forward as the work completes.
The plan lives in one place. The work lives everywhere else.
The project plan is a spreadsheet or a chart someone updates on Fridays. The tasks are in an inbox, the forms are attachments, the documents are in a shared drive and the approvals are in email.
When a sponsor asks whether the project is on track, the challenge isn't updating the chart. It's knowing what is blocked and why, who is waiting on whom, and what each slipped step does to the delivery date.
So every status meeting starts by reconstructing the answer, and a missed date surfaces when it is already too late to recover.
Spreadsheet, inbox, shared drive and email.
What changes with Farsight DS.
Work opens as its prerequisites complete, instead of waiting for someone to notice.
A projected finish from the critical path, updated as the work moves.
Tasks, forms, approvals, files and research together, not scattered.
Who did what, when, and what it caused — in one activity trail.
Everything a project needs, in one plan.
Start from a template or a document
Build from a versioned template, or upload a scoping document or work plan and Farsight DS extracts its phases and steps for you to review — taking what the document says rather than inventing steps.
Every kind of work in one plan
Tasks, forms, approvals, file requests, deliverables, checklists, research and forecasts sit in the same plan, each handled by the capability that already does that job.
Plans that move on their own
Items open when what they depend on is complete, and phases can run in parallel where the work allows — the plan advances itself instead of someone chasing it.
Timeline and critical path
Scheduled start and finish, slack and the critical path are calculated from the plan, with a projected finish compared against the due date.
Rework without chaos
Reopening an item shows exactly which later items it will reopen before you confirm, and leaves unrelated parallel work untouched.
My Work across every project
Each person sees what is assigned to them across all projects in one inbox, with blocked work kept out of the way.
From a work plan to a finished project.
The plan does the chasing; people do the work and make the decisions.
- 01PlanStart from a template, or extract the structure from a document
- 02ReviewA person confirms phases, steps, owners and durations
- 03AssignRoles get owners; work appears in each person’s inbox
- 04RunItems open as their dependencies complete
- 05TrackTimeline, critical path and projected finish update as work moves
- 06CloseDeliverables, approvals and the activity trail retained
“Turn this 60-step plan into a project we can actually run.”
A team has its work plan in a document: phases, owners and target dates. Farsight DS reads it and builds the project for review — and from then on the plan moves as the work does.
- 01Plan uploadedThe work plan document is read, phase by phase.
- 02Structure extractedPhases, steps, owners, dependencies and timing are taken from the document — nothing is invented.
- 03Reviewed by a personThe team confirms the structure, adjusts durations and assigns roles before anything is created.
- 04Project runningItems open as their prerequisites complete; each person sees their own work.
- 05A step slipsThe timeline recomputes, and the critical path shows whether the delivery date moves.
- 06Closed with evidenceDeliverables, approvals and every change stay in the project record.
The plan stops being a document someone maintains and becomes the thing that runs the work.

Control
From your systems to a working solution.
Farsight DS works on top of what you already run. Nothing is replaced.
Connect
Upload a work plan or choose a template, and connect the files, forms and people the project uses.
Configure
Set up phases, roles, dependencies and approvals once, as a template you can reuse.
Validate
Review the data, assumptions, models and outputs before anyone relies on them.
Launch
Put it into production.
Need help redesigning the process itself? Farsight DS services can take it from process design through implementation, training and adoption.
Implementation servicesProject Management on its own is useful. Connected, it is a different product.
Start with Project Management and the systems you already run. Each module below adds context the others can use — none of them is a prerequisite.
How it fits with everything else.
Connections are read-only by default, and sync only the tables the enabled modules actually need.
One model of the business. Reads from what sits below; extended by what sits above.
Frequently asked questions.
Can we build a project from a plan we already have?
Yes. Upload a scoping document or work plan and Farsight DS extracts its phases, steps, owners and timing for you to review. It takes what the document says rather than inventing steps, and nothing is created until a person confirms it.
Does it replace our tasks, forms and files?
No. Each item in a project is handled by the capability that already does that job — a task, a form, an approval, a file — so the work stays where it lives and the project tracks it.
How is the delivery date calculated?
From the plan itself. Durations and dependencies give each item a scheduled start and finish, the critical path and a projected finish, which is compared with the due date as the work moves.
What happens when finished work has to be redone?
Reopening an item shows every later item it will reopen before you confirm. Parallel work that does not depend on it is left alone.
Is recurring, business-as-usual work a project?
No. A project runs to a finish. Recurring maintenance is left out of project plans so it never pushes the delivery date out.
Does Farsight DS replace our ERP, CRM or other systems?
No. Your ERP, CRM, HRIS, operational systems and document repositories stay where they are and remain where the work gets done. Farsight DS reads from them and connects the information across them.
Do we have to license the other products?
No. Every product is useful on its own, and none is a prerequisite for another. Each one you add gives the others more context, so start with the one you need and add more when they create value.
